Government of India opens a new platform for discussing AI and setting the agenda for the country’s use of AI
The Government of India has released a new platform called IndiaAI. It is a collaboration by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, National eGovernance Plan, and the National Association of Software and Service Companies. The website provides information for “aspiring entrepreneurs, students, professionals, [and] academics.” The platform seeks to discuss advancements in AI in the country. The goal is to stimulate interest by players in the field and enhance participation in the development of AI.
The website contains articles about technology and AI, discussion those government initiatives, case studies, videos, upcoming events, and a list of status. You can find more about the website at its official URL https://indiaai.in/.
The Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ravi Shankar Prasad also announced of a program “Responsible AI for Youth.” The goal of the program is to provide students across the country the tools to approach new technology, including artificial intelligence to make them “digitally ready” for the future. This was launched in collaboration with the Department of School, Education and Literacy, operating under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is designed to address current skill gaps.
The programs available to students in high school across the country. Teachers will be appointed or can self nominate, in order to receive training through coaching and membership.
